2 Days of Creative Exploration in 3D Design, Robotics, and Hands-On Science

This Thanksgiving break, join us for a unique two-day adventure where creativity meets science and technology! Thanksgiving STEAM Discovery Camp brings together 3D design, robotics, and hands-on experiments in one exciting program designed to spark curiosity and imagination.

Campers will explore 3D pens to bring their drawings to life, program friendly robots to complete fun challenges, and dive into the fascinating world of mechanical computing through Spintronics and Turing Tumble. These activities introduce students to real engineering and scientific concepts in an age-appropriate, hands-on way.

Each day blends building, creativity, and discovery as kids design, test, and refine their own projects under the guidance of our caring instructors. By the end of camp, students will take home their 3D creations and the joy of learning how art, design, and science come together to shape the world around us.

No experience needed—just curiosity, imagination, and a love of exploration!

What Are STEAM Camps?

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math—a modern approach to learning that blends creativity with hands-on problem-solving. In our STEAM camps, kids don’t just learn facts—they build, design, experiment, and create. By combining art with science and engineering, students learn to think critically, work in teams, and express ideas through real projects.

At ThinkAhead Lab, STEAM means learning by doing—from drawing with 3D pens and designing models to programming robots and exploring how circuits and logic work in the real world.

Sample Daily Schedule – Thanksgiving STEAM Discovery Camp

9:00–9:30 – Student Arrival and Welcome Activities
Students settle in with light creative challenges and warm-up games to get inspired for the day ahead.

9:30–9:45 – Introduction to the Day’s Theme
A short, engaging overview of how today’s activities connect to real-world science and technology (for example, how machines move or how circuits work).

9:45–10:45 – Creative Maker Session: 3D Pens & Design
Students use 3D pens to build simple structures or artistic creations that connect to the day’s theme, learning about shapes, form, and structure.

10:45–11:00 – Snack Break

11:00–12:15 – Robotics Challenge
Campers explore mini-robots, learning basic coding logic as they make robots follow paths, react to colors, and complete creative challenges.

12:15–13:00 – Lunch Break

13:00–14:30 – Spintronics & Turing Tumble Exploration
Kids discover how circuits and computers work—without electricity! They’ll experiment with Spintronics and Turing Tumble sets to see how motion, logic, and cause-and-effect connect.

14:30–14:45 – Snack Break

14:45–15:30 – Final Project and Group Showcase
Students combine what they’ve learned to finish their creations, experiment one more time, or present their favorite discoveries to friends.

15:30–16:00 – Pickup Time

Our camp is more than just an educational experience—it’s a supportive, playful community where young creators develop essential life skills like teamwork, innovation, and persistence, all while having fun!

What to Bring

All your child needs is a water bottle, snacks, and lunch—we provide everything else!

Safety and Well-being

We place the highest priority on the safety and well-being of our campers. Our instructors are carefully trained to ensure a secure and supportive environment at all times. We follow strict safety protocols, particularly regarding the proper use of 3D pens and printers. All staff members are equipped with basic first-aid training and prepared to manage any health-related concerns swiftly and effectively. Our camp setting encourages inclusivity, ensuring every child feels welcome, respected, and confident to participate fully.

What Your Child Will Gain

Our camp offers young learners much more than technical skills. By participating, your child will:

  • How to create and build 3D objects using 3D pens
  • The basics of robotics and simple programming logic
  • How mechanical circuits and logic gates work through Spintronics and Turing Tumble
  • Teamwork, creative problem-solving, and design thinking
  • How art, engineering, and science connect in everyday life

Hi, my name is Sindhu, and I’m excited to guide your child through the exciting world of 3D printing and creativity! As a passionate sustainable designer and a teacher/assistant at ThinkAhead Lab, I believe there are no mistakes in art—only opportunities for unique solutions. I love inspiring kids to explore their creativity and discover their own design potential.

A little about me: On weekends, you’ll often find me traveling, hiking, or upcycling household waste into fun and functional items. I also have a love for colorful things that brighten up life! And I enjoy 3D printing miniature scale models.
Fun fact: I’m always on the lookout for cool DIY projects and ways to make old things new again!
I’m super excited to dive into a fun and creative 3D printing journey with your little innovators!
